Our instructors are fully certified through the British Association of Teacher's of Dancing and are registered Scottish Highland dance teachers with ScotDance USA.


Victoria Hawkins

LCHD Director and Head Instructor

Victoria has been a Scottish Highland Dancer for over fifteen years, dancing all over the USA and Canada. She has trained in many other forms of dance, including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, Argentine tango, and was also a competitive gymnast for ten years.

Victoria has danced at the championship level for multiple years and has represented the Northwestern states as the Regional Champion at the USIR National Championships. She placed second in the country in 2019 and has been in the top six several times. Victoria has also performed in prestigious events including the Okanagan Military Tattoo in Vernon, BC.

Victoria trained under BATD life member, Scottish teacher and renowned judge, Elizabeth Coyle. She has an Associate of Science in Physical Education and is a certified Scottish Highland dance teacher. She is dedicated to teaching dancers to become the best version of themselves and helping them develop confidence, perseverance, and grace.

Kasey Hawkins Peavy

Founder and Guest Instructor

Kasey is the founder of Lake City Highland Dance and taught in Coeur d’Alene for 7 years. After moving to Florida in 2021, Victoria took over LCHD and Kasey opened up another dance studio, Hawkins School of Highland Dance, in Jacksonville, FL. Kasey flies up to Idaho a few times a year to teach events, so be on the lookout for special workshops with her!

Kasey started dance as a child in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Canada. She has studied many different styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, lyrical, and ice dancing, along with her main passion, highland dancing. While in Canada, she learned the love of highland dancing from teacher Liela Cooper for many years. Kasey moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho in 2014, where she continued to train under renowned teacher and judge Elizabeth Coyle.

During her career Kasey has won numerous trophies and awards dancing all over Canada, the United States, and even the Caribbean. Kasey dances at the championship level of Highland dance and is a multiple time representative of the Northwest Region at the United States National Championships (USIR).

Kasey has a member’s certification with the BATD as a Scottish Highland dance teacher. Kasey is committed to offering an encouraging environment for all kids to learn the art of highland dance.
