One of the unique aspects of Scottish Highland Dance is the strong sense of community it creates. While many dance forms can foster rivalries between schools and studios, Highland Dance encourages dancers to build friendships that extend beyond their own class. Dancers make close friends within their studio, but it is also common to see students from different dance schools socializing, supporting one another, and celebrating each other's achievements at competitions. Highland Dance promotes sportsmanship, kindness, and connection, creating a welcoming environment where lifelong friendships are often formed.
